Hold on tight

It’s about to get bumpy. Put on your brave face and hold on tight because we’ll both go through many things that will probably make you want to give up on us. Are you sure you’re ready to give it a chance, to grow as one mind and soul? To know what we have, that bond that no lie can break? That pure bond of trust? So, give me that chance so that we can see the world through each other’s eyes. You and I can live out a beautiful life and colour everything around us with ourselves. We will get this chance to really feel once, so let’s not waste it on fights and anger. Darling give it a try before life decides to blow you away from everything that makes you, you.

There’ll come a time I’ll give up on us. Until that happens I ask you to hold on. Please don’t let me give up on you, on me, on the chance to smile every day when I see you. Every time I feel your presence close, just holding on to us when you feel me drifting away in that world of sadness. Promise that you’ll be my happiness even when sorrow tries to pull me down. I need you to catch me when I’m falling, to reach out and pull me out of my dark world. To be there when I feel I’ve lost myself. To keep from drowning in my tears. I need you to be my best friend and laugh with me when I’m happy. I need you to be my soulmate and always finish my sentences. I need you to catch every tear before it hits the ground. I need you to be strong for both of us when I’ve lost my way.

It’s okay when you cry with me, I’ll hold your hand if you hold mine too. I promise to keep you close when I feel weak. Will you give me courage to carry on? If you’re ready for this, then I am too. Then we’ll be two souls existing as one. One force standing together as a unit facing every obstacle that comes our way. When that day comes I pray that I’ll be strong enough for both of us. For now I want you to embrace me. Are you ready to take my hand? To take that leap of faith and believe that you and I can be? Are you ready to smile with the sun and wish upon Mr. Full moon? If so, then hold on tight and don’t let go.

Don’t jinx it by promising me tomorrow, instead hold me tight today and let me keep these memories. I want to remember us smiling and laughing together. You and I living today because tomorrow is mysterious and it doesn’t warn you of what’s coming. Seasons around us will change, but I wants to grow stronger and withstand every situation we face. I need us to be on the same page and read each other and understand who we are. Are you ready to take the adventure? If you are, then hold on tight!
