It’s Not Over Yet
By Loise Munjiru
So, what if you have been bruised today, tomorrow you will have a new story to tell. You will sing a brand-new song of deliverance, because you had the courage to look forward. Always remember to look forward because you’ve let go of the past and the bad memories. Don’t forget everything that you’ve gone through, just think of them as lessons and learn. Don’t break down and lose yourself to grief, instead, wipe off the dust and move on. Smile and then rise up and make you stronger.
Put on a brave face, and then roll up your sleeves and keep working on yourself because you deserve it. No one should make you feel worthless; instead you should be your first cheerleader. When you feel like hiding away in your shell, hold your head high and walk proudly because you’re the queen or king of your world. Be the best version of yourself and the world will applaud. Just remember that you are enough and if anyone says otherwise, remember that you’re beautifully and wonderfully made.
Turn that page and write down your new memories. Look at yourself in the mirror and speak life to those times you felt hurt and couldn’t express you. Look at those bruises and smile because you’re not yet broken because you’ve survived every trap that has been set for you. Thank the Almighty because you’re alive and you can fight for a better tomorrow. Take that leap of faith and wait for the bruises to fade away. When it’s all over you’ll see that you grew stronger and hopefully wiser to see that life is beautiful. Just rise up and see that you’re that soul that is ready to shine and scare away the shadows that have been haunting you.
